Haven't used a removalist before? Here's some questions we're often asked.
- Is insurance included in my removal quote?
- How do I work out how many boxes I need for my move?
- Do you provide a packing service as standard?
- Do you have storage available?
- Is there anything that's not safe for removal?
- Can my lawnmower & gas BBQ be moved?
- Are you able to transport my car and pet?
1. Is insurance included in my removal quote?
Insurance is not included in your quote unless specified. We are definitely able to arrange a quote for insurance for your belongings during the move though. Please visit our insurance section for full details.
2. How do I work out how many boxes I need for my move?
Determining how many boxes you'll need can be quite difficult if you haven't moved before. Trying to estimate the number of boxes on a room-by-room basis is often the best way to go about it.
Don’t panic if you are out by just a couple of boxes. Once you start packing, if you think you have to change your amount of boxes by more than a couple though, it's a good idea to let us know in case we have to allow more room on the truck for your move, or if the additional boxes alter the price of your move.
3. Do you provide a packing service as standard?
Unless you've asked for a packing service, packing hasn't been included in your removal quote. Please advise us when you book if you'd like a quote on any packing or custom packaging services. We're happy to quote on packing for just a couple of high-value or breakable items, or your entire house.
4. Do you have storage available?
Yes, we have both short term and long term storage options available if you're not quite ready to move into your new home. Just advise us of your plans and we can tailor a storage plan to suit.
5. Is there anything that's not safe for removal?
Here's a list of items which we are unable to move. If you have any other items which you're not sure if we'd be able to move, please ask us for clarification when you get in touch.
- Flammables (aerosol, petrol, fertilisers, corrosive liquids)
- Ammunition
- Pool chemicals
- Some cleaning and gardening products may also be unable to be moved
6. Can my lawnmower & gas BBQ be moved?
Yes, both of these items are able to be moved. Prior to the move they need to be cleaned and the petrol / gas is to be taken out of the item you are wanting to be moved.
7. Are you able to transport my car and pet?
Yes, simply supply us with the details of your vehicle and/or your pet and we can arrange to have them moved safely to your new home.
